How to become a Registered Estate Agent in Klang Valley?
The Malaysian Institute of Estate Agents (MIEA), as part of their continuing efforts to upgrade the professional standards of Real Estate Negotiators/Practitioners in Malaysia, is now bringing in for the first time the prestigious Real Estate qualification and designation. Aptly named as the Professional Diploma in Estate Agency, this course allows students to be tutored for the Exams conducted by the Board of Valuers, Appraisers & Estate Agents leading to his/her certification and given an authority to practice estate agency within the confines of the law as stipulated in the Valuers, Appraisers & Estate Agents Act 1981 (amended 2011) Rules 1986.The main objective of this course is to equip ONE with the knowledge on how to qualify to operate and manage a registered Estate Agency Firm or become a partner in an existing firm.
The Open University Malaysia, in collaboration with the Malaysian Institute of Estate Agents (MIEA), is now offering this Professional Diploma in Estate Agency to all in the Klang Valley.
The PROFESSIONAL DIPLOMA in ESTATE AGENCY which encompasses all the Modules as set by the Board of Valuers, Appraisers and Estate Agents Malaysia (BOVAEA), aims to provide individuals with the right knowledge and skills required to successfully operate and manage a registered Real Estate Agency firm.
The Modules which are taught by professionals and practitioners from the industry includes (though not limited to):
Building Technology, and
All participants can opt to complete all the required Modules by Board of Valuers, Appraisers and Estate Agents Malaysia (BOVAEA) within one calendar or to a maximum of 5 years and attempt the Estate Agents Examination conducted by Board of Valuers, Appraisers and Estate Agents Malaysia (BOVAEA).

The entry qualification is a minimum of MCE/SPM with passes in 5 subjects of which 3 must be at least at credit level. One of the credit level passes shall be either in Mathematics, Science, Accounts or Commerce. Pass in Bahasa Malaysia at SPM level or equivalent.
The minimum age is 17 years old to sit for the exams. Participants who are below 21 years old will be awarded the Career Certificate in Estate Agency, Level 1 and 2. The minimum age for the Board to register an Estate Agent is 21 years old.
